4th of July Family Time

by Scott on July 4, 2008

4th of July is a wonderful time to reflect and be thankful for those that have fought for our country and our independence and freedoms. My children had a wonderful time last night at the Singing Flag, and this morning at a parade. Fireworks, singing patriotic songs, and a parade. We are very fortunate for our many blessings.

In addition to having some wonderful local fun, we saved a bunch of money by staying in town. We canceled a trip for this 3 day weekend and decided to stay home instead. Not only did we save over $100 in gas, but we probably saved $150-$200 in entertainment and eating out. Now we can get some much needed rest and relaxation for the kids and for us.

Happy 4th of July!

Good job saving money! We also stayed home but with the fair in town it was hard to stay away from the food and ended up spending more than we wanted to.

@The Freebie Blogger We spent money as well, going out to the fireworks and buying pizza after the parade on the 4th. Still though, we saved a ton of money staying in town.
