3. The Green Routine writes How to Make Money Recycling Aluminum Cans and has some great suggestions to work with local businesses. These are some great ideas besides looking at your local park trash bins. I would also suggest if you are going through a hard time, consider asking neighbors, friends, and even ask a manager at a bar if you can recycle the aluminum.
4. Look for tennis balls and sell them on ebay. Yes, a market does exist for used tennis balls. Great for dog toys, elderly walker sliders, kids crafts, change holder (cut a small slit for coins). Get a box from your local store and fill it with 25, 50, or even 100 used tennis balls and list them on ebay. Earn $20+
5. Find Titleist Pro V1 and other golf balls at your local golf course. Sell them back to the clubhouse or on ebay. Check with your local pro shop and you might even be able to do some snorkeling in the local pond for some extra white gold.
6. Offer to mow a neighbors lawn for the week. You could make $20 or more.
7. Babysitting or childcare for extra income. If you already have children this could be a great opportunity to help a friend and make some quick cash.

12. Drive an RV across the country. Yep, how do you think Rv’s get to dealerships? They don’t fit on trailers like cars and trucks can. Call you local RV park or RV dealership and see if they need help with a delivery.
13. Similar to 9 above. Place an ad on Craigslist to wash an RV. Lot’s of opportunities to help out an elderly person or anyone that needs to wash up the RV.
14. This is seasonal, but hang Christmas lights. Lot’s of people are now outsourcing the family tradition. People are busy and don’t have time to hang lights. Place Craigslist ad to hang Christmas lights.

Great post, Scott. Selling golf balls from the local golf course made me a nice bit of side change in high school, although the course didn’t approve of it. That just meant we had to operate under cover of darkness
. I had never thought about trying the same thing with tennis balls- I guess I’m just such a good player that I didn’t realize that some people lose their balls…
I actually posted up today on my blog about how I made $50 last night by attending a marketing focus group. You can add that to your list as well!

Scott – Nice list of resources. To the point in #3 about recycling aluminum cans, it can be more lucrative if you live in a state with a deposit. I use to live in Michigan which requires a $.10 deposit per can! It is a hassle for most people to take their cans back so we would often go and clean people’s garage’s in return for all the cans they had.

@MGL A focus group is a fantastic idea. Did you find this through an advertisement, a local university, or on Craigslist?
@PFI Cleaning a garage or offering to take your neighbors cans to the local recycling center can really add up. We have a neighbor high school student that has a very large can collection and uses it for gas money. Who wouldn’t want free gas.
