@MGL A focus group is a fantastic idea. Did you find this through an advertisement, a local university, or on Craigslist?

@PFI Cleaning a garage or offering to take your neighbors cans to the local recycling center can really add up. We have a neighbor high school student that has a very large can collection and uses it for gas money. Who wouldn’t want free gas.

Scott – Nice list of resources. To the point in #3 about recycling aluminum cans, it can be more lucrative if you live in a state with a deposit. I use to live in Michigan which requires a $.10 deposit per can! It is a hassle for most people to take their cans back so we would often go and clean people’s garage’s in return for all the cans they had.

Great post, Scott. Selling golf balls from the local golf course made me a nice bit of side change in high school, although the course didn’t approve of it. That just meant we had to operate under cover of darkness . I had never thought about trying the same thing with tennis balls- I guess I’m just such a good player that I didn’t realize that some people lose their balls…

I actually posted up today on my blog about how I made $50 last night by attending a marketing focus group. You can add that to your list as well!
