Free Money Saving Tips For 2009

I was excited to see that a regular blog that I read daily was featured on MSN Money’s blog called Smart Spending with a list of free money saving tips. Madison at My Dollar Plan has compiled a wonderful list of resources for saving money in 2009 and beyond.

Here are some of my personal favorites that I’ve signed up for as well:

Earn extra income with coins from the US Mint. I have ordered the 2008 Presidential dollars and will be using the coins for my children, for tips, and small cash purchases. The concept for the direct purchase from the US Mint is to help circulate new coins. I am planning on doing my part and making a little extra change in the process.

Big Crumbs is a shopping website portal that allows you to save money on purchases at over 200+ stores. I have earned over $300 last year and it’s free to join. I enjoy shopping at ebay and save money on all my purchases.

Some of Madison’s tips that I want to review in the coming weeks are Upromise college savings account and opening up another ING orange account.

Bigcrumbs update for June

Finding Passive Income or alternative income sources has been one of my passions for many years. I enjoy reviewing companies, investments, and opportunities that offer passive income streams. One of the companies that have been consistent and offer online passive income is Big Crumbs. June has been my best month ever with them, earning $61.79. The best part, I have received 7 payments on the 15th of each month directly to my paypal account.

Big Crumbs shares the affiliate commission with it’s users, up to 5 generations. More can be found by taking a tour of the site and visiting the “How it works” section. It’s free to join, and I think it can be a great opportunity to start an easy and established affiliate program. One aspect of affiliate programs through Amazon, or ebay, is the inability to earn income on friends referrals. Some affiliate programs offer $5 or $10 sign-up bonuses, Big Crumbs doesn’t need to offer bonus incentives, you just get paid for all purchases made by your referrals. When a referral shops at ebay, buy.com, overstock.com, dell.com, Target.com, and over 200 other stores, you get paid a percentage of each sale. Up to 5 levels! To find out more about Big Crumbs, and the opportunity to add a great affiliate program to your blog or website, click here

How many people are looking for ebay coupons, paypal coupons, and paypal codes? I looked, and a google search for June showed over 65,000 searches. This is only U.S. traffic. The potential is much greater, as Big Crumbs can be used in Australia, England, Ireland, and Canada.

What if you don’t have a website or blog to market Big Crumbs? No worry, you can always sign-up and mention the opportunity to family, friends and co-workers. The easiest part, you have nothing to sell. They share the affiliate income with you, you don’t have to sell a product or service. You can also use them to save money while shopping and use the site to ship as you would normally. Just be sure to make your purchases through Big Crumbs and you will be credited. Maybe you are just looking for deals for shopping, you may enjoy checking out Big Crumbs.

As part of your research of any company, you should research the BBB or contact the company directly if you have any questions. I always enjoy doing a google search for scams as well, try a google search of Bigcrumbs scam or Big Crumbs scam and read some testimonials. The only ones I found were from individuals that had never tried it.

If you already use Big Crumbs, let me know how you like it. Are you finding new items to purchase for your home, school, or online business? Some items I’ve purchased through them on ebay are: water filters, toys, car parts, cd’s, and dvd;s. Pennies and nickels can turn into dollars and offer a wonderful passive income stream.

Fire at The Planet knocks out more than 9,000 servers and 7,500 customers. Including Entrecard and Big Crumbs

Early on Sunday morning a fire took out the power supply at The Planet data center in Houston, Texas. The forum admins state that no servers were damaged, but due to the fire they have no power. The Planet is working at this moment to restore power and restore the approx 9,000 servers and 7,500 clients who are down. Two website that I utilize were impacted by the fire and have been down all day. Entrecard and Big Crumbs remain down as of 11pm Sunday night. Big Crumbs sent out a notification to it’s members today, notifying us of the outage. The Planet has a forum where admins are updating status periodically. The Planet forum can be found here. I wonder if the 7,500 clients have backup servers and if they diverted traffic during the outage. Unfortunately, Entrecard and Big Crumbs do not have backup servers as they have been offline all day.

Here is an email I received today from Big Crumbs:

Hello,

Last night, there was an explosion and fire in one of our hosting provider’s data centers. No one was hurt and all is well with our servers, as they are not located in the affected facility.

However, the DNS server that hosts our domain is in the affected facility. This means that while our servers and website are fully operational, your computer can no longer “find” them on the Internet.

Because of the way the Internet works, this outage gradually spread throughout the day, and we were not aware of the problem until late in the day (we did not receive a notice from our provider). Likewise, when the DNS servers come back online, access will take time to reach everyone. Currently, there is no ETA.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and will update you as soon as we have more information.

Sincerely,

Your Friends at BigCrumbs.com

Big Crumbs First Paypal Payment

I received the best email today from BigCrumbs that read “Payday at Big Crumbs“. I clicked on the message and found that my first payment had been credited to my Paypal account. What a great email message! I signed up for Big Crumbs on November 4th and this payment included transactions for the month of November. I really started receiving referrals towards the later part of November and December. As of today I have 111 total referrals on Big Crumbs through 3 levels. My November Paypal payment was for 79 cents. Not a lot of money. Not even enough to buy a Starbuck’s short coffee, but it’s a great start. My December payment should be around $7-8. Big Crumbs has the potential to start a nice passive income stream and pay at least one of my monthly bills. I would love to be able to cover my trash, cable, internet, or even cell phone bill through my monthly online income check. Big Crumbs pays you up to 5 referral levels for purchases on ebay and at over 160 online merchants. Ebay is really the best partner for Big Crumbs as ebay store owners can list their items for sale on Big Crumbs and receive even more sales.

New Referrals on Yuwie

Yuwie is similar to Myspace or Facebook but you get paid monthly and earn to 10 levels. I’ve met over 350 friends and have 50 active referrals in only one month. Most of my referrals have come from Big Crumbs and Getref. Using Getref you can earn credits through clicking ads and joining other free programs or you can purchase credits. I’ve done both, but found that purchasing credits is faster and allows me to focus on blogging and spending time with my kids. If you have a lot of computer time and don’t mind clicking page after page, then you could have quit a few credits at your disposal through Getref. Out of my 50 referrals, 40 are from Getref and 10 are from Big Crumbs. My friends that I’ve met on Big Crumbs have been very active on Yuwie and they have signed up some of their friends. My referral tree on Yuwie is now 3 levels out of 10. Yep, you get paid up to 10 levels! I have had the chance to see three members on Yuwie that have all 10 levels. They are making about $75-200 a month. Yuwie is less than a year old and still in it’s infancy for a social networking site. Currently, Yuwie has 400,000 members and adds a couple thousand new members every day. To join click on the link here Yuwie. If you have used Myspace or Facebook you can invite your friends to Yuwie and get paid to do the same thing you’ve done on those other sites. Have fun and get paid! I’ll be updating this blog with my referrals stats for Yuwie as well as Big Crumbs.
